"RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE IN IRAQ (26-27/03/2010)"
Religious intolerance and the minimal actions taken to combat it has been a feature of Iraq since 2003.
Our institute is focused on Iraqi transitional period, and has paid special attention to the issue of intolerance, and published many relevant studies (with the MRG in London), which were widely distributed in Iraq and beyond.
in cooperation with Heinrich Boll Stiftung, the Institute organized a two-day conference on religious tolerance and invited contributions by Iraqi religious leaders, MPs, NGOs, jurists, academic scholars and policy makers. It included representatives from Sunni and Shi'i religious institutions, Christian churches, Sabia and Yazids sects, the Iraqi Parliament, the Iraqi higher judicial council, academics and researchers (Iraqi and Arab), and the media (Iraqi and Arab).
The findings of the conference are currently being published.
